Grow Leaders. Build Communities.

Research-based leadership development for agricultural and local communities.

Why Khulakunye?

Khulakunye is a Xhosa word composed of khula (to grow) and kunye (together) – it means simply: “grow together.”

In the Ceres and Bokkeveld communities, we know that true leadership is not just about management skills, but about personal growth that impacts others’ lives. Many trainings focus on technical skills or management methods, but few truly go deep into the person behind the leader.

At Khulakunye, we combine scientific research and practical experience to help leaders grow – as individuals, as team builders, and as carriers of a shared vision.

Client Reviews

What some clients thought

"Being a manager, you are faced with different walks of life and personality types in your team. Gideon gave us the tools to lead this diverse personal group and get them to buy into our strategy. Approaching and leading everyone in my team accordingly as individuals. Times have changed, and we as leaders can’t expect the same result as what was accepted years back. Gideon had a positive impact on our new way of leading.”

Danie Swanepoel, Afgri Vredendal

“I met Gideon Hanekom during a session at a management meeting. Gideon has a relaxed yet purposeful and interactive approach to the subject under discussion. My experience was that Gideon knows what he is talking about and could share from real-life experience. Back at the office, I was able to immediately start applying the principles that were discussed. He was well-prepared, and I would definitely recommend him.”
